BLESS
We’re delighted to introduce something very special to STOF: a selection of BLESS pieces are added to our physical shop, as well as online.
Born between Berlin and Paris in the mid-90s, BLESS resulted from a pen friendship between Ines Kaag and Desiree Heiss. The carefully selected visuals on the front of their postcards became an important communication tool. It is in light of this history that BLESS releases postcards with each of their collections.
“BLESS is a project that presents ideal and artistic values through products to the public.” Collaboration is at the heart of BLESS, exemplified by projects such as: N°00: The fur wig created in collaboration with Martin Margiela, featured in the FW97-98 Ready-to-Wear collection by Margiela.
Bless has always had a devoted following, and their creations don’t appear often, which makes finding them all the more exciting. Nothing is ever straightforward with BLESS—each piece comes with a twist, a surprise, or a playful detail that makes you see things differently.
We love being able to share these rare finds with you, and we hope you enjoy discovering the world of Bless with us, as much as we do. To celebrate this launch we have teamed up with Belgian photographer and artist Bert Houbrechts, who is also a former Bless resident.
Bert Houbrechts studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of Antwerp, and worked closely with Raf Simons. Bert has a strong bond to fashion and youth, but remained away for traditional fashion photography by choosing a more abstract or reportage approach.
