In Beat the Clock, Franois Brochenin presents and illustrates one of the graffiti writers basic means of expression, the flop or throw-up. Through a collection of photographs, testimonies, and an iillustrated catalogue of specific writers throw-ups, the reader is initiated into an understanding of this calligraphic tool used by the street writer/artist as a signature, executed as fast as possible to cover as large a space as possible, hence the title, Beat the Clock.
